Our Sports department has been awarded the Bronze award by School Games for our efforts providing extracurricular and voluntary opportunities in sport!
Our students have worked so hard in supporting this achievement through leadership and participation throughout the year. Here are some of the criteria they had to meet:
- A continual tracking system for participation and volunteering in sport throughout the year;
- Opportunities to attract those who are less active in physical activity including yoga and spin class;
- Engagement of a minimum of 25 students in sport per week on average;
- A continual engagement of those highlighted to be less attracted to physical activity;
- Provide 5 or more opportunities for intra-college sport such as dodgeball competitions, football tournaments and table tennis leagues, which are often run by students;
- Compete in a minimum of 3 inter-college competitions such as football, cross country and basketball;
- Engage a minimum of 2% of the student population in volunteering in sport (L6FC actually achieved 5% in this category)
- Utilisation of external coaches and support to assist in volunteering and extra-curricular opportunities.
A fantastic achievement, so proud #TopSixthForm #TopStudents #TopStaff
