Music students are currently participating in a project in which they will produce three concerts for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The concerts will take place at Marina Theatre on 23rd & 24th March.
We are one of only 3 institutions in the country (and the only post-16 institution) selected to take part this year (the others are in Carlisle and Reading)
The project entails 7 full-day workshops, in which students get real-life experience collaborating with the RPO in event management, concert programming, tech planning, front-of-house, and script-writing / presenting.
The students are working closely with world-class professional musicians. Some students will get the chance to conduct the RPO at the concert.
The project is an incredible opportunity for our students – one that will deepen their understanding of classical music, give them experience of industry conditions and expectations, and allow them to actively produce a professional concert for a world-class orchestra.
