Result: L6FC vs Bungay 6-0
L6FC started brightly and within the opening 30 seconds of the game, Zoe found her shot rebound off the post and away from the goal. More chances were shortly created with Alice shooting only to be blocked by the Bungay keeper. Zoe then worked her magic again with a long-range effort, which the Bungay keeper just palmed onto the crossbar. Zoe then saw another effort of hers hit the woodwork for the third time. L6FC looked really bright on counter attacks, this was evident when Zoe, broke away with some great individual work, then turned away from the Bungay defender, for Lauren to shoot narrowly wide of the target. At the back Lauren, Megan (GK) and Maria had a solid start to the game allowing the team to push forward and take advantage of overloading in 3v2 situations. It wasn’t too long before the deadlock was broken, as Zoe finished well to put L6FC ahead 1-0. The score was then quickly doubled with another goal from Zoe who chipped the ball accurately into the corner of the net, 2-0. Zoe then completed her hat trick with a great dribble leading to a precise finish past the Bungay keeper, 3-0. Just before the interval Charnelle drilled the ball into the net to make it 4-0.
At the break, Sam and Danny switched things up with Zoe now becoming the keeper leaving Megan to go outfield, whilst Zara came on for Lauren. Following the break the L6FC side started brightly again looking to exploit the space in the centre of the park. However, Bungay were looking more up for the occasion and tested new goal keeper Zoe on a couple of occasions, before a great combination move between Alice and Charnelle leading to Charnelle rifling the ball in the back of the Bungay net to make it 5-0 to L6FC.
The game then stopped for another interval, and again the team rotated with Megan returning back to the Goal keeper position with Zoe back up front. Lauren then came on as a sub in place of Alice. The final third of the match reflected the previous two thirds with L6FC looking sound at the back, with Zara and Maria applying pressure to any Bungay attack. Megan was also set to keep a clean sheet after tipping a low powerful Bungay shot on to the post. L6FC then capitalised on that great save by Megan, with Charnelle regaining possession deep into the Bungay penalty area, who then squared the ball to Zoe to calmly place the ball into the empty Bungay net, 6-0 to L6FC. Following this L6FC then started to create more and more chances, with Lauren, Charnelle and Maria coming closest to increasing the score line. In the dying embers of the match, Megan was forced into an excellent diving save, once again, to ensure that their clean sheet stayed intact.
