What is a T Level?
This course is a full-time study programme and cannot be studied alongside other A Levels and BTECs.
T Levels are two-year qualifications designed to give you a head start towards the career you want. They have been designed for 16 to 19-year-olds and offer a mixture of classroom learning and work placement. They follow GCSEs, gain you UCAS points and are equivalent to three A Levels.
This T Level has been developed with employers and businesses to prepare you to step straight into your chosen career, an apprenticeship or university.
About the course…
Are you interested in a career in healthcare science, working in roles such as healthcare science assistant, radiography assistant or sterile services technician?
The T Level in Healthcare Science is equivalent to three A Levels and will give you the academic and practical skills required for progression into the healthcare science industries. It will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge, understanding and the real-life skills that are needed for a range of healthcare jobs.
The course will be delivered in our purpose-built laboratories and simulated hospital environment. It provides an ideal mixture of both practical and theoretical skills development. Additionally, you will undertake an external work placement with a local employer, enabling you to apply your learning – giving you engagement, insight and connections for your future career within the industry.
An industry placement is a big part of the T Level course and you will undertake a minimum of 315 hours of industry experience. There you can develop the required hands on experience in your chosen industry while testing your technical skills and classroom knowledge further.
