About the course…

Are you considering a career in law enforcement? This encompasses roles ranging from police officers to police specials, as well as civilian positions within the police force, such as working in the control room or serving as a custody assistant, among others.

This course provides a superb gateway into the field of law enforcement. We offer guidance and support tailored to your career aspirations. As you progress through the course, you may discover new interests within the diverse range of policing roles, and we are here to assist you in navigating those changes as well.

In addition to the core curriculum, you will engage in a comprehensive suite of activities designed to enhance your readiness for a career in law enforcement. These include: mock scenarios, forensic evidence collection, self-discipline and organisational skills, drill practice, physical fitness training, self-defence techniques, leadership skill development, communication training, navigation drills and community engagement.

Where Policing can take you…

This course will provide you with the tools to navigate your preferred route to a career in law enforcement. Careers in the police are not all about driving to emergencies or patrolling a high street, and you could also consider working as a call handler to direct 999 calls, the civil nuclear constabulary to protect nuclear power plants, or even investigating environmental crimes to protect local wildlife.

Following this course you could progress through the Police Apprenticeship pathway or onto university.
