John Hales, BAFTA nominated film maker, took time out of his busy schedule to spend some time answering the questions of 30 A level Film students and BTEC Creative Media students. John was born in Lowestoft with no connections to the film industry at all. He spent some time acting and directing in the theatre, raising money to re-open The Seagull Theatre in Lowestoft, the same theatre that had been a safe haven for him as a child. John got an agent that meant he was able to get writing jobs for television. Eventually he took the step to make his own feature film, Passengers, starring Anna Popplewell of Chronicles of Narnia fame. His film should be released at some point next year.
All the students had a great time hearing about the highs and lows of film making so a huge thank you goes out the John for being so accommodating and entertaining.
